A print identical to this one hangs in the Green Parrot Bar in Key West, FL. It depicts the building at the turn of the century when it was a family run grocery store. Now you can have one just like it in your home!
Mario Sanchez, multi-generational Key West native, is a well known and beloved folk artist who lived and worked in Key West for most of his life (1908-2005). His paternal grandfather owned a grocery store in the building that is now known to be the famous Green Parrot Bar. It is easily recognized, even as a grocery store. Mr. Sanchez painted the scenery from his early childhood memories. Folk-style Key Westers meander through the streets and work and play in old Key West. The clouds depict Cuban-inspired themes such as dominoes, dry goods, and sundries. 16 x 29" print was published by Kennedy Studios in Key West, Florida in 1996. I do not know when the artist painted the original. Color portion of this print measures 14x25" with a white border. Print is in new condition and has not been handled beyond photographs nor has it been displayed. Print is unsigned and is not framed.
Print will be shipped rolled in hard-sided cylinder.
