Actually, we wish we could be there, too. This picture was taken this morning just outside the gates at Sombrero Beach in Marathon, Florida, the heart of the Florida Keys. It's always a beautiful place, but something about not being able to go there makes it look even better. The weather is perfect and the beach has recovered from Hurricane Irma, but there it sits, undisturbed.
We've heard that the turtles are taking advantage of the beach closures. Their nests lay undisturbed by poachers, digging pets, or accidental human damage. The waters have never looked cleaner nor more inviting.
We're hoping the beaches and the Keys open soon, but until then, we'll just be happy they are getting some time off to recover.
